STUDENT SERVICES  

The National Day of Testing is on October 14th. 

PSAT/NMSQT

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will measure the skills and knowledge that are essential for college readiness and success.  By taking the PSAT in 11th grade, students may be eligible for scholarships, including the National Merit Scholars Program.

JUNIORS:  The PSAT will be offered to juniors on Wednesday, October 14th, 2015.  The fee is $16.

SOPHOMORES:  This year the district will test all sophomores on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.

FRESHMEN:  The PSAT will be offered to freshmen on Wednesday, October 14th, 2015.  The fee is $16.

All Juniors and Freshmen interested in taking the PSAT may sign up in student services from September 9th until the 25th.  The fee is $16.

Air Force Academy Forum will be held Saturday Sept 12 at Union Station KC, 9a-12p.  The forum serves as an educational opportunity for students, parents and educators to learn about the US Air Force Academy’s education, cadet life and other opportunities.

Wichita State is hosting Discover WSU at the Ritz Charles in Overland Park on Monday September 21 6-8pm.  You can learn more about Wichita State’s academic programs and student involvement opportunities and visit with WSU faculty, staff and current WSU students.  Registration is required at wichita.edu/eventRSVP by Sept 15.

COLLEGE NOW: The College Now enrollment deadline is this Friday 9/11!!!  Go to www.jccc.edu/collegenow for details and course numbers or see Mrs. Hadley in student services with questions.

Any interested junior or senior may get a pass from Student Services and attend with teacher approval. All college visits will be held in the Student Services Conference Room unless otherwise noted.

SPORTS

The JV FB game scheduled for Monday, 9/17/15 @ 4:15pm vs. SMNW will be played at SMNW NOT SMN.

The C soccer game that was to be played at Mill Valley on Friday, 9/11, has been moved to SMN stadium on Thursday, 9/10 @ 6pm.

The freshman football scheduled for today (Wednesday) has a time change.  The game will now start at 6pm instead of 4:15pm

This is just a reminder that the varsity football game on Friday will be SMNW HOME GAME.  All SMN students will be required to pay $5 to get into the game.  We will sit on the visiting side of the stadium.  Please remember to bring your I.D.

CLUBS

There is a Coalition meeting today in room 100. If you want to help make plans for future service projects, please come to room 100 after school today.

HOSA meeting meeting has been RESCHEDULED for today, September 9 at 2:45.

Information on membership, conferences and a special event coming in October will be on the agenda!!!

MISC

The Homecoming dance is Saturday, September 19th. Tickets will be sold during lunch and after school September 14-18. They’re $15/single or $25/couple. If you’re bringing an out-of-school date, you must get a form from the front office. Bring your school ID to the dance—you won’t be let in without it!
