Homecoming Week

A glimpse at what homecoming week will look like coming Oct. 2
Homecoming+Week

Homecoming week will kick-off on Oct. 2, 2023, it’s a week filled with activities and events. The week starts off with a Homecoming assembly and band concert on Tuesday. Additionally there will be spirit days throughout the week where students and staff can dress up according to the themes.

The last couple of years there has been a Homecoming Bonfire that occurred during Homecoming Week. Instead of a bonfire, Pep Club has planned a block party. It will occur on Oct. 4. from 6-8 p.m., in the West Parking Lot.

“We’re not having a bonfire this year,” said Principal David Ewers. “It kind of eliminates the fire aspect of things because there’s so many codes and planning and the winds too. There’s a lot that can go wrong with a bonfire as well. We’re not a very landlocked school and we don’t have a lot of open areas.”

On Friday Oct. 6, the Homecoming Parade will start at 1 p.m. and at 7 p.m. the football team will play against Lawrence Free State High School. Saturday night the week will end with the annual Homecoming Dance. The dance will last from 7-10 p.m., at the Field House.
