Students Can Bring Canned Food for Chance to win AirPods

It’s not too late to win AirPods! There’s still time to turn in canned food items for the StuCo canned food drive. The last day to donate is Nov. 1

According to Miles Duvanel, the drive’s organizer, students can bring in cans in two places- one barrel by the auxiliary gym and fieldhouse doors, and another during second breakfast in the lunchroom. This leaves students with a convenient way to donate. Also, donating is a win-win, since students get a chance to win, while simultaneously helping to end hunger. According to Duvanel, we need to reach our goal of 1,200 cans, and we’re not there yet.

“Every can gets you a raffle ticket, which will put you in this big pool of tickets,” said Duvanel. This means that every can donated increases the chances of winning. Also, there won’t just be one winner. Since there are two pairs of AirPods available, two winners will be selected. The winners will be selected and announced at the end of the day Nov. 1

The donated food goes to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, a non-profit organization striving to provide food, clothes, and other supplies to low-income families across the county. Although the county is one of the wealthiest counties in the country, there is still poverty, and the community needs support.
