SPORTS:

Any student wanting to start conditioning for Winter Sports, please report to the weight room on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s. Conditioning will be from 3pm to 4:15pm.

Attention Student Body!
This tonight is our first Varsity Football game of the season! We face the Free State Firebirds in Lawrence starting at 7pm. Come and ride the Pep Bus (for free) to see our returning seniors and Coach Simmons start the season with a win. Permission Slips are available in room 238. Don’t
delay – they will go fast.

Today Boys Varsity and JV soccer will practice at North on the turf at 3:00 to 5:00. C Team will still ride bus to Antioch.

CLUBS:

The Shawnee Mission North Combo Club will meet this Saturday, September 7, at 9:30 in the band room……. All students and staff are invited to attend. This event will encourage loud, amplified, free form, music where we teach each other’s the surreptitious charms of making music. So in review, Combo Club, this Saturday, in the band room, … set up is at 9:30 and club dismisses at 12 noon.

MISC

Indian Night at the Library –
On Tuesday, September 10, the SM North library will be open from 6pm-9pm for computer/internet access, study groups, or individual work. This is an opportunity to study, complete assignments, read, research or converse with fellow peers. to improve your grades or just get some work done. Ms. Gagnebin, Social Studies faculty member will be supervising.

Seniors, in order to be pictured in the school yearbook, you must have a photo taken by DeCloud Studios. The last day for photos taken at the studio is September 21. You can make an appointment at DeCloud by calling 913-956-7200. A LAST chance day for students who can not make it to the photo studio will be at SM North on Sept. 20. Students may sign up in the office by Sept. 10 to have a photo taken at North instead of the Studio. For more information please go to yearbook adviser Becky Tate’s web backpack.

City of Overland Park Teen Council
The Overland Park Teen Council is a new program that allows high school students to get an inside look at local government. Over the course of the school year, students will learn about different city departments, get a chance to attend various board/commission meetings, and plan a community service event. See the fliers posted throughout the building for more details. The deadline for applying is September 16th.
