Splashing into victory

With the help of multiple place finishes, the SM North boys swim team placed first at the tri-meet versus SM Northwest and SM West.

Some of the place finishes include:

A first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay team of seniors Keighan Miller, Charlie Kaifes, and sophomores James Cameron and Clayton McMillin with a time of 1:51.26. The team of juniors Bob Collins, Carter Jacobson, and Kaden Vernard and senior Justin Dukelow placed third with a time of 1:57.60.

Sophomore Nick Aragon placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:28.72. Junior Antonio Gutierrez placed third just a few milliseconds off of Aragon with a time of 2:28.79.

There were three top five finishes in the 200-yarm IM race. First place went to freshman Sam Cramer with a time of 2:37.68. Second went to Collins with a time of 2:39.47. Third went to freshman Dylan Robertson with a time of 3:03.29.

There were another three top five finishes in the 50-yard free. Kaifes placed first with a time of 23.88, Miller placed second with a time of 24.14, McMillin placed fourth with a time of 25.52.

Vernard and Gutierrez placed first and second in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:02.82 and 1:14.05, respectively.

Kaifes placed first in the 100-yard free with a time of 53.14 and junior Carter Jacobson placed third with a time 56.80.

Dukelow placed first after a close race in the 500-yard free with a time of 6:36.10.

The same team that placed first in the 200-yard medley relay team also placed first in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:37.03. Another team of Collins, Gutierrez, Vernard and freshman Cameron Watson placed fourth with a time of 1:51.61.

Jacobson placed second in the 100-yard back with a time of 1:10.69.

McMillin and Collins placed third and fourth with a time of 1:13.94 and 1:15.67, respectively.

Cameron, Jacobson, Miller, and Vernard placed second in the 400-yard free relay at a time of 3:49.48. Another team that consisted of Dukelow, Cramer, Gutierrez, and sophomore NickAragon placed fourth with a time of 4:26.82.
