The Boys’ Swim and Dive team captured a strong 2nd place finish out of six teams in the Shawnee Mission Northwest Invitational on Saturday. .
Individuals who placed high included Mitchell Sams’ second place in diving, Erik Hydeman finished 3rd in the 50 Free and also the 100 Backstroke, and Jacob Roemer placed 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke and Jacob Roemer in the 100 Breaststroke.
The 200 Free Relay of Hydeman, Cody Sarras, Roemer, and Lair Heslop finished 2nd, and is only 1 second from qualifying for State.
The day’s top race was the 100 m Backstroke where North had 4 boys finish in the top 9.
Hydeman had a career race, as did Charlie Kaifes, who dropped 5 seconds off his time.
