Painting classes build canvases to begin their portrait project

In Stephanie Dalley’s 7th hour painting class students build their own canvas to prepare for painting projects. The process started with putting together the canvas sticks. Next, they stapled the fabric down to the boards. The final step was painting the canvas with a white gesso getting them ready to be used. Students then used their own canvas to paint their portraits.
