Eyes closed, senior Dylan Polson takes is “Blind test” during his first year of Photo 1. Polson said “The hardest part about the test is when the film doesn’t go in and goes to the side or over the reel.” Dylan later past his test and successfully loaded his real film in the darkroom.
Photo 1 is a class offered at Shawnee Mission North and consists of students using film cameras and the film developing process to learn about proper composition in photos, and simply just how to take a good photo. One student said “The beginning of the class can be frustrating when we’re just doing bookwork, but once we get to stat taking and developing pictures its really fun, and my favorite class.”
