SM North Annual Trunk-Or-Treat

Cold weather pushes Trunk-Or-Treat inside Aux Gym

SM North once again held its annual ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ in the auxiliary gym on Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It was set up and run by StuCo executives, and was open to all children from all different Shawnee Mission School District feeder schools.
“It gets very busy,” senior and StuCo secretary Paula Cifuentes said. “Obviously not all of them will show up, but we are prepared for about 700 kids and their families.”
Some activities the kids could enjoy during Trunk-or-Treat were face painting, basketball, a prize corner, follow the ball, horseshoe toss, and of course – trick or treating. Trunk-or-Treat was mainly focused on entertaining the young children who came through, but it was also for families who just wanted to have fun.
“The Trunk-or-Treat went great,” senior and Pep Club president Austin O’Dwyer said about the 500 children who attended. “It was planned well and the kids seemed to have fun.”
