Shawnee Mission School District food pick up

As students and staff gear up to move back into remote learning, student meals have yet again become a topic of discussion. The first time the district was online, students were able to get free food provided by school and when they moved to hybrid in person students got their lunches at and remote students were still able to pick food up.

After Thanksgiving break students will once again be able to pick up food just like they did early in the year, or like they have been doing if they are remote.

“Every school in the Shawnee Mission School District is available for meal pick up on Fridays from 6:30 am to 7:45 am,” Food Services Director Nancy Coughenour said.

The lunches will still be free, all students, or parents, have to do is give their student ID number and they get a week’s worth of lunches and breakfast items.

Employees are also wearing masks at all times, wearing and changing gloves frequently and regularly disinfecting high touch areas, to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
