Homecoming and Fall Sports Assembly

The day started off as usual as an E day at North could be. The difference was that instead of a seminar there was an assembly, the first assembly of the year.

As students, teachers and parents filed into their respective section, the cheerleaders and band were performing the usual songs, like “Go Big Red”, to hype everyone up for the assembly.

After everyone was in their seats, the we’re number one index finger to the sky to quiet everyone was used, followed by the school song, the presentation of colors and finally the Pledge of Allegiance.

Not too long after this junior Caleb McDonald and others talked about awards that occurred during the spring season the previous year and this upcoming year.

The Drill Team followed to a compilation of songs, like “Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae” and “Hit the Quan”. Drumline was up next with their performance.

Finally the last act of the assembly was the announcing of the 20 Homecoming candidates. The candidates were Anastasya Bagdasaryan, Alex Coddington, Kayla Dailey, Asya Dial, Caroline Downey, Hannah Gaddis, Aleesha Gonzalez, Caitlyn Howard, Stormy Keller, Brittany Kracht, Emily Kyle, Kori Martiny, Hope McAlexander, Nagim Muhammad, Ali Patterson, Aleah Sadeghi, Vanessa Tapia, Samantha Taylor, Lucy Wagner and Jazmin Williams. The top 10 will be announced on Sept. 11 with the crowning taking place during halftime of the Sept. 18 football game against West.
