Boys Swim and Dive:  Congrats to the Boys’ Swim and Dive team as they finished an amazing Sunflower League Championships this weekend!  We finished in a solid 6th place as a team, behind some of the top teams in the state.  We had a number of great swims and took home lots of medals.
All three of the relays medaled, finishing 5th, 6th, and 5th respectively.  Participants in the relays included Collin Braden, Jacob Roemer, Erik Hydeman, Lair Heslop and Cody Sarras.  The 200 Freestyle Relay was only one second from breaking a school record, and the 400 Freestyle Relay swam the fastest time North has had in over 30 years!!!!  All three relays are headed to State Championships in 2 weeks!
Individually, diver Sean Atkinson was the top finisher for North, moving from 15th place after prelims all the way up to a 6th place finish.  Ali Oguz had a fantastic race in the 100 Backstroke to finish 7th, and he missed the State Qualifying cut by only four tenths of a second.  Erik Hydeman was right behind him with a 9th place finish in the backstroke.  Collin Braden was our only swimmer to place in two events, finishing 9th in the 200 Freestyle and 10th in the 100 Free.  He qualified for State in the 100 Free!  Jacob Roemer placed 8th place in the 100 Breaststroke, and also qualified for State! Lair Heslop was a 10th place finisher in the 100 Butterfly.
Other guys who absolutely swam great on Friday night during prelims included Julian Watkins, Charlie Kaifes, Ian Lloyd, Michael Armstrong, Miles McLenon, and Jake Croston.
Great job to the entire team for a super effort to finish in the top half of the Sunflower League.  In one of our best League performances in years, North proved that we have a very solid swim and dive team, and the future looks bright!  Way to go Indians!!

This is just a reminder for any student planning on trying out for a spring sport, you MUST have a physical on file before the first day of tryouts.  Spring sports tryout outs begin on February 25th.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Rettig in the office.
