On Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m., StuCo hosted a Trunk-or-Treat in the SM North parking lot for elementary students. It was open to anyone who wished to participate, so there was no requirement for an organized club. All students had to do if they wished to participate was show up with a decorated trunk and candy to hand out. StuCo was also there to provide refills if any trunks ran out of candy.
StuCo member and senior Emma Peck was the lead organizer of this event.
“Trunk-or-Treat was a huge success,” she said. “The turnout was great but I was mainly excited about how many trunks there were. 26 people decided to host trunks which doubled from last year. I am super proud of how the North community came together to put on an event for the North feeder kids.”
Peck said that organizing it was a bit of a task due to her only having a week and a half to plan everything, but ultimately it was a success.
“[Initially] only three people were signed up to host a trunk but I went to each classroom to convince more people and build excitement for the event,” she said. “It ended up being such a sweet night, the kids loved it.”
