...[B]reaking five meet records, and several [students] being interviewed for television mentioned looking forward to North Relays each year. said David Reichart.

We added athlete bib numbers this year which separates North Relays from most other meets. And we added an “Elite Mile” with guys trying to run a sub 4:00 mile, Coach Aaron Davidson said. ...overall we [North] had solid performances but it’s hard to notice sometimes because the competition is so good.

Competing at North Relays, junior Cash Olberding throws a javelin. Olberding placed 25th with a throw of 138 feet 11 inches. North Relays was held on May 5 at SM North High School. The throw wasn’t a personal record, but Olberding was happy to be a part of the meet. “Right before I went to throw everyone from my ROTC class came out to support me and cheer me on before they started working hurdles,” Olberding said. “It means a lot to have friends like them come out and support me and I would consider a lot of them just as close as family.”

At North Relays, held on May 5 at SM North High School, sophomore Trystan Middleton throws a javelin. A personal best throw of 141 feet landed Middleton in 23rd place. “I felt very good about the throw and knew it was a good one once I released it,” Middleton said. “The best part was having friends and family there to watch me compete.”

Walking backwards, sophomore Paul Dahlin lays out the flags on the throwing fields. North Relays was held on May 5 at SM North High School. “I love helping out with north relays and always will because its my favorite day of the year.” Dahlin said.
