North aids the Johnson County Christmas Bureau in the annual pasta drive

Another program benefiting the Johnson County Christmas Bureau at North is the annual Clubbin’ for Carbos led by Stuco.

Senior Sam Yoakum was in charge of the Student Council sponsored event this year. Yoakum said the food donated goes toward assisting families.

“The food goes to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau,” Yoakum said, “where it is distributed among families who are in need of some help during the winter.”

English teacher and Student Council sponsor Chris Zuck said North has continued to partake in this program.

“We have donated pasta for a number of years,” Zuck said. “There have been years when Student Council has donated time as well.”

Yoakum said participating in this drive is essential in order for families to receive help.

“It is very important that we do drives like these,” Yoakum said, “because there are so many families in the area that have it so much worse than us and are in high need of help during the upcoming months.”

Yoakum said North typically works with JCCB and has taken a great part in service.

“We really try to always be involved in some kind of service project,” Yoakum said. “But it is also good to do new things to keep people excited and interested.”
