JROTC Quad Invitational
Saturday, Jan. 8, was the SM North Quad Invitational for JROTC. Four teams from other Shawnee Mission schools competed in areas of Academics, Athletics, Drill and Inspection.
SM North’s team placed first in all of the events, which means they will qualify for the Midwest Regional Championship in Oklahoma City, OK. There, they will compete against the Top 12 teams in the Midwest region.
“Our kids were first in all ten events, they all did really well, and now we leave for Oklahoma City Jan. 27,” Coach Dennis Grayless, who is in charge of North’s JROTC, said. “A victory in Oklahoma City means we qualify for the national championship for the 17th straight year.”
Nationals will be held in Pensacola, FL, in April.
