On Nov. 23, the board of education revised the transfer policies and procedures.

In district transfer requests will be reviewed before outside transfer request and siblings of current in-district transfers are given priority. After those requests are processed, the others will be reviewed in order of submission. No out-of-district transfers will be accepted unless they are a sibling of an existing transfer student in good standing or a dependent of a current and continuing Shawnee Mission School District employee.

All applicants have to file electronically with the Office of Instructional Leadership (if you don’t have access to the internet, paper application are available at the Office of Instructional Leadership, located at the McEachen Administrative Center (7235 Antioch). Applications open up at 8 a.m. on March 1 and close 5 p.m. on April 30.
