Student Council Mixer

Shawnee Mission North held their fall mixer this past Friday, Aug. 28.  The auxiliary gym was filled with students who danced the night away at the ’80s themed event.

“I think it went really well compared to other mixers in the past, we had a high attendance, and we made a great profit,” Student Council Social Committee Head, junior Natalie Turner said.

The mixer was for all students, but was specifically targeted at the incoming freshman in hopes of getting them involved in a fun way.

“I saw a lot of kids who came in with some extravagant outfits,” Turner said. “The kids seemed really excited that we were doing something different that just a regular mixer.”
Canned food was also collected at the door to help get a head start on the upcoming food drive.  The profit made is going towards other student council events such as Homecoming, the food drive, and the charity picnic.
