Any interested junior or senior may get a pass from Student Services and attend with teacher approval. All college visits will be held in the Student Services Conference Room unless otherwise noted.

MISC

ALL string players report to gym at 1pm today for class pictures. This is both Chamber and Strolling classes. Please don’t check in to seminar first, you will return as soon as our picture is over.

North students and staff – Come support your Shawnee Mission North Cheerleaders at the first ever Shawnee Mission School District Winter Warm Up Festival this Saturday at SM West.  Admission is $5 to get in and the festival begins at 10.  Your North cheerleaders perform at 1150.  We would love to see you all there!!

Cappuccino Day

Friday, Nov. 6th in the North Library

Students:  Don’t forget to bring your spare change on Friday. Cappuccino Day will be held as a fundraiser for the North PTA and the library.

Everything is $1- donuts, baked goods, cappuccino, hot cocoa, and more!

Happy World Series Champ Wednesday!!  STUDENTS , JUST A REMINDER THAT TOMORROW DURING SEMINAR. REACHING OUT FROM WITHIN WILL BE IN THE BUILDING! COME HEAR CURRENT INMATES FROM LANSING PRISONS, SHARE AND TALK ABOUT THEIR STORIES. YOU ARENT GOING TO WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT!! SEE YOUR TEACHER FOR A SEMINAR PASS OR COACH DRE. EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE LITTLE THEATRE.

Students – Thursday during seminar 1:15pm to 2:30pm, Reaching out from within, will be in the building! Come here current prisoners from Lansing talk about making good choices, striving for excellence and about their experiences being in prison. Teachers have seminar passes or come see coach Dre for one. Going be a great event North!

Attention Creative Students: North’s Art and Literary Magazine INDIAN LORE is now accepting submissions for our 2016 publication. Want your visual art (drawings, painting, photography, sculptures, and pottery) or your short stories, essays, poetry, and dramatic works to be published? Look for our signs around the building or come see Mr. Powell in room 113 or Mrs. Miner in room 102 for more information.

The musical The Fantasticks, opens this week.   The show dates are November 4th, 6th, and 7th at 7pm. There are two shows on the 7th at 2pm and 7pm.

SPORTS

Anyone tryout for a winter sport listen up!  Winter sports tryouts start on Monday, November 16 and you MUST have a physical and concussion form on file BEFORE you can tryout.  All forms can be picked up in the main office.  If you should have any questions, please see Ms. Rettig or Mr. Ewers in the office.

The bowling meeting that was scheduled for November 3 has been moved to November 10.  Parent/athlete/coaches meeting for bowling will be November 10, 6 p.m. in the SMN Cafeteria.

Girls Basketball Meeting Today, November 5 @ 1:30p during seminar in the aux gym.  If you are planning on trying out for Girls Basketball this season, this is a mandatory meeting.
