National Honor Society Induction
SM North National Honor Society held its 2018-19 induction ceremony on Sep. 12.
The initiation, which marked the 88th anniversary of the North NHS, included 34 returning and 37 new members.
“I wanted to join NHS because I enjoy volunteering,” junior Logan Setzkorn said. “It also looks good on college applications.”
Senior Divya Hegde said she became a member of the NHS Exec. Board to volunteer and take on a new leadership role.
“I wanted to be on the exec. board because it was an opportunity to take part in leadership and building community,” Hegde said.
English teacher Meaghan Pogorek holds a leadership role in NHS as well, having become the faculty sponsor last year.
“It’s rewarding because I have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful students who want to see the world change in a positive way,” Pogorek said.
