Every winter, 20 senior boys are nominated by their peers to represent the best of Shawnee Mission North.

As voting starts nominees see if they have made the top 10. This year however it was top 11 because of how close the voting was.

After the top 10 are announced, there is more voting which consists of students only being able to choose one student.

After the votes are in, STUCO tallies the votes and announce it at halftime of a basketball game.

On February 12, the winner and the two runner-ups were announced.

Second Runner-up was Joel Steelman, first Runner-up was Hunter Hawkins and the 2013 Northman was Caleb Denman.

“I was really surprised,” Denman said. “I wanted to be in this situation ever since I was a freshman and now it is like a dream come true.”
