On Nov. 6, SMSD schools held mock elections in their social studies classes and at lunch. The winner of the popular vote was Obama/Biden with 59.86% of the votes with Romney/Ryan with 35.57% of the votes.
Schools also voted on the U.S. Representative for the third congressional district. Republican Kevin Yoder, the incumbent received 66.12% of the votes. Joel Balam, of the Libertarian Party, received 33.88% of the votes.
