Students attend college visits

Many North students have attended college visits with teachers in the past month to learn about the school and it students and find their possible new path.

A group of six students recently attended Youth Day at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) with language teacher Jessica Andrade.  The students learned about college life through university staff presentations and a student panel.  They also took a campus tour including an inside look of dorm life, studying at the library and exercising at the campus gym.

Over thirty students recently enjoyed visiting Johnson County Community College (JCCC) with language teacher Jackie Madrigal and Andrade.  These students had the opportunity to tour the campus and enjoy an outdoor lunch among college students and listen to a live band.

Both trips exposed North students to their opportunities for further education and answered many of their questions regarding college.  Several students left the visits ready to search for scholarships and eager to apply for college.
