Introducing the Freshmen

The new school year has begun and with it comes the new freshmen class. For the incoming students it means more responsibilities and the pressure of adapting to high school. But even with  pressure, Vice Principal Annette Gonzales remains optimistic.

“Obviously we want to reach high academically,” Gonzales said. “But when we get there, we want to go even higher.”

Freshmen First Day served as a  bridge  between the freshmen and upperclassmen. Upperclassmen helped build relationships and making the high school transition easier. Throughout the last few years Freshman First Day has seen positive improvements.

“I felt overwhelmed with information my Freshmen First Day,” Pep Club President, Lauren McDonald said. “But I think this year we did a good job of making (Freshman First Day) more appealing.”

Incoming freshmen have already set some positive goals for themselves.

“I plan on getting better grades in my classes than I did last year,” freshmen Tyson Martins said.

The class of 2016 plans to keep striving at North.

“We always want to raise the bar,” Gonzales said.
