The North Literary and Art Magazine, Indian Lore, was named a 2012 NSPA Magazine Pacemaker Finalist.
The 2012 National Scholastic Press Association Magazine Pacemaker contest, which recognizes high school literary magazines published during the 2011-12 school year, yielded 55 total entries from around the country. A team of professionals at the Alaska Quarterly Review selected 12 finalists.
Judges commented that the best magazines showed exemplary literary and visual work, which complemented each other. Clean and accessible layouts invite the reader to spend time on each of the pieces and underline the themes of the magazines.
The Pacemaker winners will be announced for the first time at the Spring JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco, April 25-28.
